Fresh Friday Festival

How it works

AboutHow it worksFAQGuidelines
The 60-second tour
A week, end to end
  1. Submit

Sign in with Google, drop an unlisted (not private) YouTube link, and pick your Friday. Submit the plain unlisted video for now; you set it up as a premiere later, once you have a slot time (see Scheduled below). Submissions for the coming Friday stay open until one hour before showtime - earlier means better odds of a slot, and a full night takes a waitlist. Future Fridays welcome via the calendar.

Drop the link and the details once - that's the whole ask. Everything after this you can watch happen live under My submissions; no need to chase us by email.

  2. Submitted → in review

Your video lands as Submitted. An editor reviews it against the Guidelines and places it into a Friday's running order. Scheduling runs through the festival week.

A few quiet days isn't a no - it usually means you're in the queue for an upcoming night.

  3. Scheduled - confirm your spot

Once the week is locked your submission becomes Scheduled with a real date and a 10-minute slot. Now set your video up as a YouTube Premiere for your slot time, with the premiere countdown set to 1 minute, then confirm you can premiere that night from My submissions.

This is the one thing we need back from you. An unconfirmed slot may be released to the waitlist - so tap confirm when you see it.

  4. Verified

An editor does a final check of your link and details. Your status moves to Verified and your slot is locked in for the night.

When it reads Verified, you're set. Nothing more to do but show up.

  5. Premiere night

Fridays at 23:00 GMT (summer) / 22:00 GMT (winter) - all GMT, no daylight-saving shift. The lineup premieres in order.

Everyone hits play together. For ten minutes the room is yours - the part a feed can never give you.

  6. Vote, Encore & the picks

Audience voting opens the moment the show ends and runs through Thursday. The Encore (Tuesday evening, hosted by Fenix) reveals the team's picks mid-vote: Staff, PJ's and Fenix's. The Community Pick, decided by the audience, is announced Thursday end-of-day. All four badges show on the Showcase & Leaderboard.

The badges are the festival's way of saying: this one landed.

  7. Premiered - archive, replay & your page

Your video reaches Premiered: it stays in the Showcase archive, “▶ Watch the lineup” on Vote rides the playlist back in order, and it appears under My submissions and on your creator page.

Nothing disappears at midnight. Already have premieres from before? Claim your artist on your Profile and your back-catalogue links to your account too.

Slots & exceptions

One premiere slot per artist per week. Exceptions: short films over 9 minutes may take two consecutive slots; collaborations and clearly distinct personas may hold a second premiere. Full detail in the Guidelines.

That's the whole ride.
